Asus secures $2B HSBC-arranged syndicated loan to fuel AI push

Asus has secured a $2 billion syndicated loan arranged by HSBC to support its operations and expansion, including its artificial intelligence (AI) push. The loan went to Asus Global, its wholly owned Singapore subsidiary, and is the group's first offshore syndicated loan. Strong lender demand allowed the facility to be upsized to $2 billion, HSBC said on Monday. The bank acted as sole coordinator, mandated lead arranger, book runner, and facility agent. Asus chief financial officer Nick Wu said the support would help the group deepen its AI applications and expand globally. He said Asus will pursue an AI strategy spanning cloud AI, edge AI, and physical AI.
