Responsibilities
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager with daily housekeeping and laundry operations.
  • Provide leadership, direction, coaching, and support to Housekeeping Supervisors and team members.
  • Assign daily work based on occupancy, arrivals, departures, stayovers, staffing, guest needs, and operational priorities.
  • Conduct quality-control inspections of guest rooms, casitas, public areas, and other assigned spaces to ensure resort standards are met.
  • Ensure rooms are cleaned, inspected, properly secured, and ready for occupancy by designated check-in times.
  • Maintain scheduled cleaning, deep-cleaning, and special-project programs throughout the resort.
  • Perform housekeeping duties, including work as an AM Spa Cleaner, Public Areas Attendant, Room Attendant, or Laundry Attendant, when staffing levels or business demands require additional support.
  • Remain flexible and responsive to changes in occupancy, staffing, guest needs, special events, and resort operations, including emergency calls during non-working hours.
  • Work closely with Guest Services regarding room status, special requests, room discrepancies, guest concerns, and room readiness.
  • Coordinate with Guest Services on outstanding housekeeping charges, including late check-outs, pet fees, smoking fees, and missing items.
  • Coordinate with Facilities to identify deficiencies, submit work orders, and follow up on outstanding repairs.
  • Maintain accurate room-status information and housekeeping reports using the resort property management system and other designated systems.
  • Oversee resort Lost and Found procedures, including documentation, secure storage, tracking, mailed items, pick-up items, and disposition of items.
  • Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping-related guest requests or concerns, including Lost and Found matters, and assist with appropriate service recovery.
  • Monitor guest feedback and recurring cleanliness or service concerns and work with the Housekeeping Manager to implement corrective action.
  • Maintain appropriate par levels of linens, towels, guest amenities, cleaning products, equipment, and housekeeping supplies.
  • Assist with inventory counts, purchasing requests, linen replacement, and monitoring product usage, loss, and shortages.
  • Assist with weekly employee scheduling based on occupancy, operational needs, staffing levels, and labor guidelines.
  • Monitor attendance, staffing coverage, productivity, overtime, and labor utilization.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager with departmental budgets, expenses, labor controls, supply costs, and other operational reports.
  • Train and develop employees in cleaning standards, safety procedures, proper chemical use, guest service expectations, and departmental procedures.
  • Remain current on resort activities and communications to staff.
  • Provide timely, respectful coaching, recognition, and performance feedback.
  • Assist the Housekeeping Manager and Human Resources with recruiting, onboarding, performance management, corrective action, and employee development as assigned.
  • Ensure employees follow departmental standard operating procedures, safety requirements, sanitation standards, key-control procedures, and resort policies.
  • Ensure cleaning chemicals, equipment, and personal protective equipment are used and stored safely and appropriately.
  • Identify unsafe conditions and take corrective action or notify appropriate management.
  • Understand resort emergency and first-aid procedures and maintain a calm, professional demeanor during challenging situations.
  • Maintain effective communication and coordination with Housekeeping, Guest Services, Maintenance, Security, Springs, Spa, Food and Beverage, and other resort departments.
  • Participate in department meetings, training sessions, safety meetings, and management meetings as assigned.
  • Serve as the housekeeping leader on duty when the Housekeeping Manager is unavailable or absent, as assigned.
  • Cultivate a positive learning environment through clear, specific, timely, and respectful coaching and feedback to shift team members, ensuring operational excellence and enhancing overall performance.
  • Perform other duties and projects assigned by resort management.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous hands-on experience in guestroom cleaning, public areas, laundry, or related housekeeping functions is preferred.
  • Spanish and English bilingual skills are a plus.
  • Working knowledge of staffing, scheduling, inventory control, labor management, and departmental cost controls is preferred.
