Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree, preferably in engineering, business, or industrial technology, is required; an MBA is preferred.
  • The candidate must be technically and commercially credible to earn and maintain trust from engineers, procurement personnel, and other key contacts.
  • The candidate must be resilient, adaptable, and self-regulating while managing long-cycle, complex industrial sales processes.
  • The candidate must have 10 or more years of experience in industrial sales or key account management; headquarters-level experience is preferred.
  • The candidate must have demonstrated success in achieving sales and budget goals.
  • The candidate must be able to implement sales and marketing strategies effectively.
  • The candidate must have strong analytical and critical-thinking skills.
  • The candidate must have strong verbal and written presentation and communication skills.
  • The candidate must be able to interface with and demonstrate leadership internally and externally.
  • The candidate must be able to communicate effectively cross-functionally within the company and with customers.
  • The candidate must be able to build strong business relationships with customers.
  • The candidate must be able to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and process requirements.
  • The candidate must have strong organizational skills, including capturing and maintaining valuable information, proactively planning next actions, and closing those actions.
  • The candidate must have a valid driver's license with limited moving violations.
  • The candidate must be able to lift 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Own key accounts for a defined customer list, including Swagelok, Parker, McMaster-Carr, and Grainger.
  • Grow sales through product expansion, engineered solutions, and market extension by partnering with customer leadership, marketing and sales, sourcing, engineering, and other customer departments that affect sales development.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers and internal departments.
  • Work with the commercial management team to develop and implement the company's key-account and original-equipment-manufacturer strategy.
  • Coordinate company activities concerning pricing, contract renewals, performance metrics, and quality and delivery issues to the mutual satisfaction of the company and key accounts.
  • Conduct regular customer reviews of business performance.
  • Monitor market and competitive trends to position company value effectively.
  • Develop forecasts and budgets for key accounts and original equipment manufacturers.
  • Work with Marketing to prospect potential original-equipment-manufacturer and contractor accounts and engage in lead-generation activities to solicit new business.
