About the company

Levisonics is building a platform called acoustic tweezing rheometry to analyze liquids non-contactly from a small sample (a drop of blood). The system measures how a sample coagulates, polymerizes, or flows (rheology) by applying acoustic forces to the drop and observing its deformation, enabling fast, safe, and comprehensive assessment of bleeding and thrombotic risks in neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. It can also function as real-time quality control for food, liquids, and gels during manufacturing. Compared with competitors, Levisonics emphasizes non-contact measurement, very small sample volumes, and the ability to deliver rapid results for both clinical risk assessment and manufacturing QC. The company’s goal is to provide a practical, non-invasive tool for predicting bleeding/thrombosis risk and ensuring product quality in real time across medical and industrial settings.

What believers are saying

  • NIH awarded $299,309 in 2024 and NHLBI funding in 2026 supports development.
  • DoD’s $4.3 million grant funds trauma-focused point-of-care expansion and commercialization.
  • Open roles in 2025 and 2026 signal hiring for engineering, software, and lab execution.

What critics are saying

  • Abbott, Siemens, Werfen, and HemoSonics dominate distribution, compressing Levisonics’ adoption through 2026.
  • Clinical utility still trails commercialization; NIH Phase I ended February 2025, delaying revenues.
  • If pivotal pediatric or hemophilia validation slips, Levisonics becomes a grant-dependent science project.

What makes Levisonics unique

  • Levisonics’ 2026 i-QATT platform measures coagulation from 4–6 microliters, non-contact.
  • Tulane collaboration and 2021, 2026 publications validate acoustic tweezing spectroscopy scientifically.
  • Patent-backed acoustic levitation differentiates Levisonics from optical INR and viscoelastic competitors.
