  • In-depth knowledge on the Hadoop stack (Map reduce, HDFS, Hive, Pig, Zookeeper)
  • Experience with Business Intelligence frameworks and ETL tools
  • Proficiency in the Java programming language
  • Proficiency in the Unified Modeling Language
  • Experience with RDBMS and SQL
  • Experience architecting systems following the REST architectural style
  • Experience with machine learning methods and libraries (e.g. Weka, Mahout, Sci-kit)
  • B.Sc. degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics or related field is required
  • At least 8 years of experience designing scalable, distributed systems
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with business analysts and data scientists in eliciting and articulating solution requirements
  • Design scalable data analytics platform and solutions
  • Make architectural decisions for the data analytics platform and solutions
  • Assess, benchmark and select data analytics technologies to be added to the big data platform
  • Support development lead in determining architecturally significant requirements for data analytics solutions
  • Design big data platform API
  • Provide guidance and mentor developers in the data analytics team
Desired Qualifications
  • Practical experience with the Scala programming language
  • Practical experience with the Play web framework
  • High-level knowledge on the Spark ecosystem
