Responsibilities
  • Provide departmental support and supervise staff in the Air Export department.
  • Supervise and direct Air Export staff in performing work according to operating procedures.
  • Issue freight bills and invoices to brokers and collect unpaid invoices within the credit term.
  • Monitor staff performance and scheduling.
  • Train Air Export staff and monitor staff performance.
  • Ensure the department complies with company policies, procedures, and applicable government regulations.
  • Review workflows and procedures and provide feedback to maintain a high quality of service.
  • Document, record, and report discrepancies, including missed deadlines.
  • Support staff to ensure daily operations are met.
  • Maintain direct contact with customers, subcontractors, and other departments.
  • Maintain accounts, including making sales calls to increase business opportunities.
  • Work with operations staff to achieve target goals.
  • Handle other job assignments as determined by the Assistant Manager or Manager.

NX Group invests in VALT JAPAN to expand employment for people with disabilities

NIPPON EXPRESS HOLDINGS has acquired a stake in VALT JAPAN through the NX Global Innovation Investment Limited Partnership. The companies signed a capital and business alliance agreement on 24 August. VALT JAPAN operates the NEXT HERO digital transformation platform, which creates employment opportunities for people with disabilities or intractable diseases whilst addressing corporate labour shortages. The platform collaborates with more than 2,000 continuous employment support facilities nationwide and has secured business process outsourcing contracts from over 400 companies. The partnership will establish a dedicated Digital Innovation Centre for the NX Group, followed by direct employment at NX Heartful, a special-status subsidiary. The companies will later consider offering the developed services to logistics operators and other clients.

NX Group invests in ElevationSpace to build space-to-Earth cargo transport network

NX Group, the parent company of Nippon Express, has invested in ElevationSpace, a Japanese startup developing space-to-Earth transport services, through its NX Global Innovation Investment Limited Partnership. Founded in February 2021, ElevationSpace is developing re-entry capsules including the ELS-R for microgravity experiments and the ELS-RS for transporting supplies from private space stations. The company plans to launch Aoba, Japan's first private-sector re-entry satellite, in late 2026 or after. The partnership aims to establish "last mile" space logistics by combining ElevationSpace's retrieval technology with NX Group's global logistics expertise. Services will include pre- and post-launch transport, customs clearance and delivery of retrieved items to final destinations. With the International Space Station scheduled to end operations in 2030, the collaboration addresses growing demand for new space transport infrastructure.

NX Group acquires Metro Supply Chain for up to $1.6B while maintaining Montreal HQ

Metro Supply Chain, a Canadian logistics provider, is being acquired by Japan's Nippon Express Holdings (NX Group) for up to C$2.2 billion. The deal, subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close in coming months. Founded over 50 years ago, Metro Supply Chain operates across Canada, the US and the UK with approximately 9,000 employees and 190 sites. The company has been majority-owned by LDC Metro Holdings and La Caisse. NX Group, a publicly listed global logistics company operating in over 50 countries, has committed to maintaining Metro Supply Chain's headquarters and management team in Montréal. The company will retain local operational autonomy under NX Group's holding company structure.
