Tenable ranks #1 in Device Vulnerability and Exposure Management for eighth consecutive year. Tenable credits market share leadership to continued platform innovation, including agentic AI advancements and demand for securing AI environments. COLUMBIA, Md., Sept. 10, 2026 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) - Tenable(R) Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ: TENB), the exposure management company, today announced that it has been ranked first in worldwide market share in the IDC Worldwide Device Vulnerability and Exposure Management Market Shares report (doc #US53903826, August 2026). Exposure management is a fundamental and necessary shift in how businesses perceive and reduce risk in the AI era. Defenders have reached a crossroads: the volume of critical and complex threats has increased exponentially, and they have increasingly less time to assess and respond before AI-enabled attackers strike. The Tenable One Exposure Management Platform was purpose-built to address this challenge, helping customers better understand cyber risk, prioritize action and defend against evolving cyberattacks. According to the IDC Market Shares report, "Tenable held its ground as the clear market leader, retaining 24.6% share in the worldwide device vulnerability and exposure management market, which is nearly $260 million ahead of its nearest competitor." Tenable credits its market share position to its ongoing platform advancements designed to unify visibility, deliver precise contextualized exposure intelligence, and accelerate and automate action across the enterprise. In recent months, Tenable introduced autonomous, always-on capabilities in Tenable Hexa AI, the agentic AI engine of Tenable One, expanded Tenable One AI Exposure capabilities to cover all major AI platforms and developer tools, expanded coverage into application security environments and extended its platform's continuous security control and validation capabilities. Tenable is committed to actively shaping the future of AI-driven exposure management through continued platform innovation and strategic work with OpenAI and Anthropic. In addition to participating in both the OpenAI Daybreak Defense Network and Anthropic's Project Glasswing, Tenable recently announced the availability of Claude Mythos 5 within Tenable One, helping customers better understand cyber risk, prioritize action and defend against evolving cyberattacks. "We believe our eight consecutive years of market share leadership reflect our commitment to delivering the continuous innovation that sets the standard for exposure management," said Mark Thurmond, co-chief executive officer, Tenable. "We're empowering customers to transform their organization's defense for the AI era by equipping them with the comprehensive visibility, advanced analytics and AI technology required to outpace today's adversaries." "It can't be overstated: exposure management is foundational and thus necessary to understand, validate and prioritize exposures before they can be exploited by AI-enabled attackers," said Michelle Abraham, VP of Research, Security and Trust, IDC. "Boards, insurers and regulators are pushing security teams from conversations about the number of vulnerabilities to how much risk remains. Organizations that embrace exposure management principles can reduce risk, improve remediation efficiency, and demonstrate measurable progress to stakeholders." GISEC 2026: Tenable to highlight Agentic AI-driven exposure management. At the event, Tenable will showcase its Tenable One Exposure Management Platform. Tenable announced its participation at GISEC Global 2026, taking place at the Dubai Exhibition Centre (DEC), Expo City Dubai from 16-18 September. At the event, Tenable will showcase its Tenable One Exposure Management Platform, which unifies visibility across an organisation's entire attack surface. Building on this foundation, the company will highlight how its AI capabilities, including Hexa AI and AI Exposure, help close critical security gaps before attackers can exploit them. As organisations across the Middle East continue their digital transformation journey and integrate generative AI into enterprise operations, security teams are facing an influx of expanding attack surfaces and rapid threat cycles. At GISEC Global 2026, Tenable will demonstrate how these AI capabilities bridge the gap between exposure discovery and automated remediation. "AI and cloud adoption are moving faster across the Middle East than most organisations' security controls can keep pace with," said Maher Jadallah, Vice President, Middle East and Africa at Tenable. "Attackers are already using AI to find vulnerabilities faster than defenders can patch them. As initiatives like the UAE National Cybersecurity Strategy push organisations toward more resilient infrastructure, security teams need a clear, prioritised view of where they're exposed, not another disconnected tool." Visitors to GISEC can schedule briefings with Tenable security experts and experience live demonstrations of the Tenable One platform, including Tenable Hexa AI and AI Exposure, throughout the event at booth number H7-B130 in Hall 7. Tenable One brings together two distinct AI capabilities. Tenable AI Exposure helps organisations discover, assess and secure how AI is being used across their environments. Tenable Hexa AI is the platform's agentic engine, using AI to coordinate agents, automate security tasks and accelerate remediation. Put simply, AI Exposure helps organisations secure their use of AI, while Hexa helps them use AI to improve security operations. Together, they advance Tenable's preemptive security strategy by helping organisations reduce AI-related risk and act on cyber exposure more efficiently.
Tenable, OpenAI partner to inspect community-built AI components. Tenable and OpenAI are developing Exchange Inspector to assess AI agents, MCP servers, skills and multi-agent playbooks before enterprise deployment. 09 Sep 2026 10:01 IST Tenable has partnered with OpenAI to develop a security review process for AI agents and other community-built AI components, as enterprises increasingly adopt agentic AI in their workflows. The CyberAgents Exchange AI Inspector, or Exchange Inspector, will combine OpenAI GPT cyber models with Tenable's AI security capabilities and researcher reviews to assess AI agents, skills, Model Context Protocol (MCP) servers and multi-agent playbooks before they are deployed in enterprise environments. Inspecting AI components. The new service is part of Tenable's CyberAgents Exchange, an open-source registry for cybersecurity-focused AI components. Launched in August, the exchange currently includes more than 100 community-submitted agents, skills, MCP servers and multi-agent playbooks. Exchange Inspector will use OpenAI's GPT cyber models for frontier security assessments, while Tenable One AI Exposure will inspect the skills within submitted components. Tenable researchers will also review the components as part of the process. The aim is to give security teams more visibility into the risks associated with third-party and community-built AI components before they are introduced into enterprise environments. "Agentic AI will only reach its potential in the enterprise if security teams can trust the components being introduced into their environments," said Eric Doerr, chief product officer at Tenable. "By combining OpenAI GPT cyber models with Tenable's security expertise and researcher review, we're building a more rigorous way to inspect community-built AI components before they're used in enterprise environments. This is an important step in applying frontier AI to help defenders identify and prioritize risk across the growing agent ecosystem." Growing agent ecosystem. The development comes as AI agents are moving beyond standalone assistants toward systems that can access tools, interact with enterprise data and execute tasks with limited human intervention. This creates additional security considerations around the components that agents use and the permissions they receive. Tenable said the CyberAgents Exchange was expanded following its SWARM build event at Black Hat USA 2026, where security teams and developers built AI components for cybersecurity use cases. Exchange Inspector is expected to become available in September. The collaboration also builds on Tenable's participation in OpenAI's Daybreak Defense Network. OpenAI's Intelligence at Work: Cyber Summit, where the initiative was announced, brought together cybersecurity leaders to discuss applications of frontier AI for defense, including security analysis, threat detection and remediation.
