  • Coordinate internal and external resources supporting systems, dashboards, process design, and document governance; make dependencies and ownership explicit while keeping functional directly responsible individuals accountable for their domains.
  • Capture lessons learned, identify recurring operational bottlenecks, and implement automation and process improvements that make the organization more predictable, scalable, and effective.
Desired Qualifications
  • Have experience with hyperscale or artificial intelligence infrastructure, including first-party, third-party, colocation, or cloud service provider delivery models.
  • Be familiar with project controls, scheduling, operational readiness, commissioning, capacity acceptance, service-level agreement and mean-time-to-recovery reporting, incident or ticketing workflows, and handover governance.
  • Have technical fluency with application programming interfaces, integration patterns, business intelligence and reporting tools, workflow platforms, data quality controls, and automation; SQL or equivalent analytical skills are a plus.
  • Have experience managing vendors, consultants, or embedded support resources and converting ad hoc support into repeatable operating capability.

About the company

OpenAI researches and builds artificial intelligence models and turns them into products for people, developers, and businesses, with a stated mission of making sure artificial general intelligence benefits all of humanity. Its launch of ChatGPT in 2022 brought generative AI into everyday use. People use ChatGPT to ask questions, write, code, and analyze files, developers build OpenAI's models into their own apps through its API, and its Codex agent works through coding tasks on its own. OpenAI earns money from ChatGPT subscriptions, business plans, and API usage. Sam Altman, Elon Musk, and others co-founded it in 2015; it is based in San Francisco and overseen by a nonprofit, the OpenAI Foundation.

  • Sales are compounding: OpenAI's yearly revenue pace doubled from $24 billion in March 2026 to nearly $50 billion in September.
  • Equity turns into cash regularly: staff sold $7 billion of shares in August 2026, after $6.6 billion in October 2025.
  • Room to grow: OpenAI plans to nearly double staff to 8,000 by year-end and listed 816 openings in October 2026.

What critics are saying

  • Its chief rival pulled ahead: Claude maker Anthropic's $965 billion valuation in May 2026 topped OpenAI's $852 billion.
  • Profits are years away: OpenAI's own forecast, reported in September 2026, shows $278 billion of cash burn through 2030.
  • Expect leadership churn: 15 senior leaders, including the revenue and applications chiefs, left OpenAI between January and September 2026.

What makes OpenAI unique

  • A nonprofit is in charge: the OpenAI Foundation appoints OpenAI's whole board and held a 26% stake in October 2025.
  • ChatGPT reaches about one in seven people on Earth: 1.2 billion used it each week as of September 2026.
  • Microsoft is a major part-owner: it held about 27% in October 2025 and licenses OpenAI's models through 2032.

OpenAI launches Decisions API to rival TypeSafe, the $7.6B startup behind Jev

OpenAI has made its Decisions API model widely available, entering a market that recently made TypeSafe, a startup founded by a former OpenAI researcher, a $7.6 billion company. The API became available to all customers on Thursday. Decision models act as super classifiers: given a set of options, they choose quickly and rate their confidence. Developers use them in place of large language models to work faster and at much lower cost. OpenAI built its version by reconfiguring ChatGPT Luna. Product lead Nikunj Handa said response times fell from one to three seconds to 100 to 180 milliseconds. Speak, which builds AI language tutors, cut the time between actions from 1.4 seconds to 0.13 seconds. Other early customers included Box, Datadog, and Ramp. On public benchmarks, OpenAI's model ranks eighth and fourteenth, behind TypeSafe's Jev model.

Defenders' window narrows as Chinese AI models close in, while Meta posts $64.6B revenue

Meta said third-quarter revenue rose 26% to $64.6 billion, slightly above its forecast, and announced a new class of nonvoting common stock to raise capital for its AI spending without diluting chief executive officer Mark Zuckerberg's control. Shares rose 2% in after-hours trading. Existing shareholders will get one Class C share for each Class A or B share they hold. The stock can be issued from January 19. Meta gave no timing or size for an equity offering. Free cash flow was negative $2.12 billion, against positive $10.63 billion a year earlier, due to AI investment. Full-year capital spending is expected at $135 billion to $145 billion, within its earlier range. Operating income fell 37% to just under $13 billion, partly due to a nearly $10 billion legal charge. A New Mexico judge also ordered Meta to pay $25 billion in a Cambridge Analytica case.

Google Cloud to offer OpenAI's GPT-6 Astra and Codex in deal with AI rival

Google is adding OpenAI's latest models to Google Cloud, letting enterprise customers buy tools from one of its biggest AI rivals. GPT-6 Astra and OpenAI's Codex coding agent will arrive in the coming weeks. Customers can access the models through Google Cloud's Model Garden and buy them via Google Cloud Marketplace. Businesses can pay for OpenAI services with their existing Google Cloud spending commitments instead of negotiating separate contracts. The deal puts Google's cloud economics ahead of model exclusivity. The more AI workloads run on its infrastructure, the more spending Google can capture, whichever model customers prefer. The trade-off is that Google makes it easier to use a direct competitor's models instead of its own Gemini.

OpenAI's GPT models head to Google Cloud and Antigravity coding tool

OpenAI's latest models are coming to Google Cloud, under an arrangement between the two companies. GPT models will also soon appear in Antigravity, Google's agent-powered coding tool. The models will arrive in Google's "Model Garden" in the coming weeks, joining more than 200 options. These include Google's Gemini, Mistral, Llama, Gemma, and Anthropic's Claude. Google says it is now the only large cloud provider offering all three leading closed large language models. The full set of GPT 6 and 6.1 models (Astra, Sol, and Luna) will launch. They will run entirely on Google's infrastructure, with transactions handled through the Google Cloud Marketplace. OpenAI says Microsoft remains its primary cloud partner.

OpenAI to sell GPT-6 Astra and Codex models on Google Cloud after Microsoft exclusivity ends

OpenAI will offer its frontier AI models and Codex coding agent through Google Cloud in the coming weeks, the companies said on Wednesday. The models include GPT-6 Astra. Customers can buy them via Google Cloud Marketplace and use existing cloud spending commitments. Firms in regulated industries can access the models through Google Cloud's access controls and data governance tools to build agentic AI workflows. Google joins Amazon Web Services as a distributor of OpenAI models, after OpenAI's exclusive arrangement with Microsoft expired in April. The two companies compete in AI products and search, yet cooperate on computing capacity. Anthropic, an OpenAI rival, drew 47% of its 2025 revenue from Amazon and Google's cloud platforms, according to its IPO filing.
