Requirements
  • At least 2 years of direct experience in a customer service, contact center, or scheduling environment, preferably in healthcare.
  • Preferred experience with Acombina, including troubleshooting and testing, and technical proficiency with EPIC, Outlook, IDX, Excel, and Word.
  • Preferred experience or knowledge in central scheduling, medical terminology, insurance verification, registration, or a hospital or physician office.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Ability to handle customer complaints independently, support co-workers with patient escalations, and support quality and training programs.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate relevant information and directions in an organized and concise manner.
  • Ability to handle more than the required number of physician specialties for a fully functional Navigator 1.
  • Ability to maintain or exceed the minimum quantitative and qualitative performance metrics and expectations defined for the position.
  • Ability to analyze issues, identify the best resolution quickly, and make sound decisions.
  • Ability to adapt and work flexibly in a fast-paced, changing environment, and learn new things quickly.
  • Excellent time management, leadership aptitude, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work as a motivated, decisive self-starter and problem solver.
  • Strong computer-user skills, including proficiency with the Internet, Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of EPIC systems.
  • Ability to work varied hours and shifts as business needs change.
  • Ability to wear a telephone headset and manipulate objects such as a pen, keyboard, and mouse.
Responsibilities
  • Provide a single, centralized point of patient access to physician and radiology services across multiple disciplines.
  • Deliver an exceptional experience to patients, customers, and physicians contacting the Access Center by facilitating access throughout the provider network.
  • Provide support to the Access Center management team for escalations, patient complaints, new-hire onboarding, and training or cross-training.
  • Provide technical and operational support in the design, development, delivery, and evaluation of systems and training programs in the Patient Access Center.
  • Support the Learning and Quality function through training and quality monitoring across the Patient Access Center.
  • Review individual and team audit reports to identify training needs.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert and provide high-quality customer service in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
