Requirements
  • Five to seven years of relevant professional experience or a demonstrated equivalent level of expertise.
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field or a demonstrated equivalent level of applicable experience.
  • Demonstrated business-related experience in multinational corporations including Japan and the United States.
  • Strong written and verbal business communication proficiency in both English and Japanese, with an understanding of Japanese culture and business customs.
  • Strong project coordination skills with the ability to strategically drive results, take action, and solve problems.
  • Strong relationship-building skills to manage proactive, prompt, and accurate communication with multiple stakeholders across organizations.
  • The ability to stay organized and process-oriented while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel and PowerPoint.
Responsibilities
  • Support strategic company initiatives in product marketing, focusing on marketing initiatives for console video games.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders within The Pokémon Company International and The Pokémon Company in Japan to achieve business goals.
  • Work with the Senior Manager, Product Marketing to identify problems and provide solutions.
  • Coordinate and manage video game marketing projects between The Pokémon Company’s Tokyo office and internal cross-functional teams.
  • Drive project progress within The Pokémon Company International, keep teams and stakeholders informed, and ensure tasks are executed on time.
  • Manage projects, tasks, and relationships with The Pokémon Company’s Tokyo office so cross-functional teams are represented in globally aligned marketing activities.
  • Review marketing assets and copy for accuracy.
  • Research, analyze, report, and present key business metrics and industry trends.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in video game marketing, intellectual-property or brand marketing, or video game development, including localization.
  • Passion or interest in the Pokémon brand.

The Pokémon Company manages and licenses the Pokémon IP across video games, trading cards, anime, and merchandise, coordinating the franchise for partner products and services. Its offerings include core video games, the Pokémon Trading Card Game, animated series and films, and licensed merchandise, with Pokémon GO as a prominent freemium mobile game using augmented reality.
