About the job

Requirements
  • At least 7 years of experience as a Product Manager or in a similar product leadership role.
  • At least 3 years working with Agile/Scrum teams, driving sprint planning, refinement, and backlog health.
  • Direct experience in payments, acceptance, or processing (gateway, acquirer, processor, or merchant-facing payment product), with product-decision-level understanding of authorization, capture, settlement, interchange, and funding.
  • A proven track record of navigating regulated payments constraints—including surcharge legality, card-brand rules, PCI, Nacha/ACH, and state regulations—as product design inputs.
  • A proven track record of outcome-focused delivery with measurable business impact, such as revenue lift, adoption-rate improvement, retention contribution, or deal enablement tied to owned products.
  • Experience owning merchant-facing or SMB-facing product experiences for business operators managing daily payment workflows.
  • Experience with B2B SaaS product management, including SaaS delivery, multi-tenant considerations, and the merchant lifecycle.
Responsibilities
  • Own the product vision, strategy, and quarterly roadmap for the Payment Experience domain, articulating direction, rationale, sequencing, and what not to pursue.
  • Own the full payment experience lifecycle across the Virtual Terminal, surcharging, tender types, and login/security; define adoption targets, merchant-facing education or configuration strategies, and post-launch validation for each service.
  • Drive surcharge enrollment growth by designing compliant and effective enrollment strategies that account for state legality, card-brand rules, and merchant-facing constraints.
  • Manage tender-type adoption and expansion, own the BNPL (Sunbit) partnership, ACH, Apple Pay, and future payment methods, and drive merchant-facing education and activation to increase adoption.
  • Build and maintain a strategically prioritized product backlog based on business value, cost of delay, and merchant impact, maintaining 2–4 sprints of ready work at all times.
  • Conduct product discovery before committing major work by talking to merchants, listening to support calls, analyzing usage patterns, and reviewing competitive payment experiences; validate before building.
  • Treat card-brand rules, PCI scope, state surcharge regulations, and Nacha/ACH rules as product-design inputs and problems to solve.
  • Write benefit hypotheses for major initiatives and validate outcomes after launch; own the cycle of discovery, planning, building, shipping, measuring, and learning.
  • Collaborate with engineering during sprint planning, refinement, and execution, providing clear availability and treating developers as partners.
  • Communicate proactively with stakeholders, send monthly domain updates, and surface trade-offs and sequencing changes before stakeholders ask.
  • Triage all incoming domain requests by accepting, deferring, declining, or routing them, and give each request a visible disposition within 10 business days.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with BNPL, alternative tender types, or payment method expansion.
  • Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, and product intake/discovery tools.
  • Product management certifications such as CSPO, PSPO, or equivalent.
  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, or a related field.
