Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required for Case Manager I; a master's degree is required for Case Manager II, in psychology, social work, or another related human-services field.
  • One year of experience in mental health or human services is preferred.
  • A valid Colorado driver's license and a recent clean driving record are required.
  • Ability to transport people served in the employee's personal vehicle is required.
  • Ability to obtain and carry business-use coverage on the employee's auto policy is required; the additional cost is reimbursed.
  • Ability to sit, stand, bend, reach, drive, operate standard office equipment and business machines, and occasionally lift up to 40 pounds is required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess, monitor, and follow up on the people served's ability to meet basic needs while moving toward recovery, and complete clinical documentation of consumer interactions.
  • Help people served meet basic needs including food, clothing, shelter, personal safety, and general medical and dental care; assist with applications for income, medical, housing, or other eligible benefits; and identify people who need a protective payee and arrange that assistance.
  • Ensure people served can access needed services and community resources by arranging transportation or, when necessary, transporting them in a personal vehicle.
  • Provide comprehensive psychosocial services across high- and low-intensity levels to improve or maintain people served's ability to function in social roles.
  • Help people served evaluate their strengths and symptoms, set their own goals, and plan appropriate services.
  • Guide and instruct people served in daily living skills, including medication use, diet, exercise, personal hygiene, shopping, cooking, budgeting, housekeeping, transportation, and use of community services.
  • Help people served develop social skills, interests, and leisure activities that support participation and personal worth, including age- and culturally appropriate daytime and evening activities.
  • Help people served find and use appropriate employment opportunities, vocational rehabilitation services, or supported work environments when appropriate.
  • Assist people who need special living arrangements in locating rehabilitative or supportive housing that offers an appropriate degree of support while encouraging increasing responsibility.
  • Offer support, assistance, consultation, and education to families, friends, landlords, employers, community agencies, and others who interact with people served, to maximize benefits and minimize community-related problems.
  • Identify and work with potential natural support systems, including neighborhood networks, churches, and community organizations.
  • Use consumers' support systems to encourage engagement with treatment programs.
  • Reach out to program-eligible people, informing and educating them about services available at WellPower and in the community.
  • Maintain a trauma-informed environment of wellbeing.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

WellPower opens walk-in clinic for same-day opioid addiction treatment in Denver

WellPower, Colorado's largest community mental health centre, has opened a Medication-Assisted Treatment Walk-In Clinic in Denver to provide immediate, low-barrier care for people experiencing opioid use disorder or withdrawal. The clinic offers same-day support without appointments. The evidence-based model combines peer supporters with lived recovery experience, pharmacists and mental health clinicians. Services include same-day medication for withdrawal symptoms, short-term prescriptions and referrals to ongoing treatment programmes. Located at WellPower's Recovery Centre at 4455 E. 12th Ave., the clinic currently operates Wednesdays from 1:00 to 16:30, with plans to expand hours. The initiative responds to rising overdose deaths in Colorado and Denver. WellPower serves over 22,000 individuals annually across 30 sites and nearly 200 community locations.
