Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Three years of office experience are required, including experience providing a high level of customer service.
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced word-processing, spreadsheet, and database applications is required.
  • Moderate to fast, accurate keyboarding is required.
  • Good proofreading and writing skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform clerical, secretarial, and general office duties, including confidential work.
  • Prioritize office activities and delegate work to student and temporary employees.
  • Respond to inquiries about the department's activities, policies, and programs.
  • Coordinate room arrangements, notifications, participant communications, seating assignments, response records, space, audiovisual equipment, and travel.
  • Interact with the general public as a university liaison and with university personnel, including senior-level personnel, to resolve issues and problems.
  • Customize or compose letters independently or in response to requests for information.
  • Perform general word-processing duties using intermediate to advanced-level functions.
  • Modify or create databases and complex spreadsheets.
  • Monitor complex department budgets or grants.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two years of office experience with an Associate's degree.
  • One year of office experience with a Bachelor's degree.
  • Proficiency with intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office or Apple applications.
  • Knowledge of desktop-publishing software.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Access.
