Requirements
  • Assistant Professor candidates must have a Ph.D., Doctor of Business Administration, or be an all-but-dissertation candidate in Accounting, preferably from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-accredited institution; all-but-dissertation candidates must complete the doctoral degree before the date of hire.
  • Assistant Professor candidates must demonstrate potential or ability to be an excellent teacher.
  • Assistant Professor candidates must demonstrate potential or ability to publish a steady stream of peer-reviewed scholarly research.
  • Assistant Professor candidates must have an interest in teaching in a hybrid or online format.
  • Assistant Professor and Associate Professor candidates must have professional certification or commit to attain certification within two years of starting employment.
  • Associate Professor candidates must have a Ph.D. or Doctor of Business Administration in Accounting, preferably from an Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business-accredited institution.
  • Associate Professor candidates must have a documented record of teaching excellence.
  • Associate Professor candidates must demonstrate an ongoing stream of publications in high-quality peer-reviewed outlets, with no fewer than three publications in the most recent five-year period.
  • Associate Professor candidates must have a documented record of service to the department, institution, and profession.
  • Associate Professor candidates must have an interest in teaching in a hybrid or online format.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must submit a letter of interest, curriculum vitae, statements of research and teaching interests, and the names and contact information of at least three professional references.
Responsibilities
  • Teach at the undergraduate and possibly graduate level.
  • Teach financial accounting through the advanced level and at least one secondary area.
  • Teach fraud and forensic accounting, cost accounting, graduate managerial accounting, or other upper-level accounting courses as applicable.
  • Teach business law courses when qualified to do so.
  • Integrate artificial intelligence tools into the classroom.
  • Teach nine credit hours per semester normally, with a six-credit-hour teaching load during the first academic year.
  • Publish scholarly research.
  • Provide service to the department, school, and university.
  • Use effective teaching and classroom management strategies to enhance the success of diverse learners.
Desired Qualifications
  • The preferred candidate will already have experience using artificial intelligence in the classroom.
  • The preferred candidate will have an emerging portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in academic journals.
  • The preferred candidate will have at least one professional certification, such as Certified Public Accountant or Certified Management Accountant.
  • The preferred candidate will ideally have a Juris Doctor degree with the ability to teach undergraduate business law courses.
