- A Master’s degree in behavioral sciences, human services, social work, marriage and family therapy, psychology, counseling, or a clinically related field is required.
- If currently unlicensed, the candidate must be on track to complete licensure for a specific related discipline.
- Candidates may hold a provisional or intermediary license for a specific track, such as LGSW, LMSW, LAMFT, or LPC.
- Some experience working in a residential, intensive inpatient, or outpatient setting is required.
- A valid driver’s license is required, along with compliance with state regulating agency and Nexus Home Office driving requirements.
- Candidates must comply with confidentiality, mental health and medical privacy, and HIPAA requirements.
- Manage youths’ treatment through active engagement, clinical assessment, treatment, and discharge planning.
- Provide clinical insight and use a trauma-informed lens to enhance the treatment milieu and programming.
- Engage with families through family therapy and treatment planning.
- Collaborate with community organizations and providers regarding youths’ progress and discharge planning.
- Help establish and maintain a positive treatment culture and environment.
- Work with youth and families to develop a Nexus Individual and Family Guidance Plan.
- Participate actively in Family Collaborative Intake meetings.
- Complete Child and Adolescent Needs and Strengths functional assessments in accordance with TCOM collaborative principles.
- Develop and monitor individual treatment plans collaboratively with families, youth, and providers.
- Provide individualized, youth-focused, strength- and evidence-based family and individual therapy.
- Develop and facilitate trauma-informed, educational, and treatment-focused milieu and treatment groups.
- Participate in youth-related treatment team meetings using family-centered and youth-driven practices.
- Serve as a clinical treatment-team leader to YCPs by modeling and coaching staff on rapport building, trauma-informed practices, and de-escalation techniques.
- Be available on call for consultation, treatment direction, and decisions when appropriate.
- Assess discharge readiness with the treatment team.
- Coordinate and communicate client aftercare needs with families and social service and community providers.
- Communicate with family members, educational, legal, community, and social service providers to gather information supporting the treatment process.
- Produce and maintain required client reports, records, and documentation accurately and on time according to policy and regulations.
- Educate staff and facilitate training on trauma-informed practices, clinical diagnosis and treatment processes, and other clinically relevant topics.
- Participate in team meetings, clinical team meetings, therapy clinical supervision sessions, and required in-service activities.
- Remain current on company policies, assigned training, and certification requirements.
- Full licensure in Minnesota as LICSW, LPCC, or LMFT.
- Related residential or human services experience working with youth and families.
Nexus Family Healing is a nonprofit provider of mental health and family support for children, young people, and caregivers. Its continuum includes foster care, outpatient and community mental health services, residential treatment, and family stabilization.
