  • At the Senior Partner Enterprise Architect level, have at least 5 years of enterprise software solution consulting, architecture, or hands-on experience supporting enterprise software applications at Workday or a comparable enterprise software company.
  • At the Senior Partner Enterprise Architect level, have at least 3 years of applied knowledge of cloud architecture, security, reporting, and integration standards, including API-based and native integration patterns.
  • At the Senior Partner Enterprise Architect level, have at least 3 years of Workday experience.
  • Be able to engage credibly with GSI CTOs, chief architects, and offering development leads as a technical peer and trusted advisor, grounded in deep platform knowledge and/or prior consulting or implementation experience.

  • Have experience designing and delivering reference architectures, technical playbooks, or integration standards adopted at scale within a partner or enterprise organization.
  • Be able to translate complex technical concepts into clear, outcome-oriented narratives for technical and executive audiences, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have practical understanding of how to architect and operationalize agentic AI in the enterprise, with curiosity about agents, large language models, retrieval-augmented generation, and MCP.
  • Proactively surface observations about partner practices, including architectural challenges, emerging patterns, and competitive signals, to Workday’s Product & Technology teams.
  • Be able to coordinate across GPO, Product & Technology, Forward Deployed, Solution Consulting, and other cross-functional teams.
  • Be comfortable operating in a fast-moving, investment-stage environment where standards are being developed, with a bias toward learning, iteration, and continuous improvement.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary technical authority for Workday’s AI platform, integration architecture (A2A, MCP), agentic capabilities, and Data Cloud within the pod.
  • Ensure the partner’s architects and technical teams maintain deep, current knowledge of Workday’s platform and roadmap ahead of general availability, enabling them to lead platform conversations before Workday participates.
  • Design and deliver architect-tier sessions and technical deep-dives that build fluency within the partner’s technical teams.
  • Maintain authoritative knowledge of Workday’s technical roadmap and translate upcoming releases into implications for the partner’s architecture patterns, delivery standards, and solution portfolio.
  • Architect reference solutions showing how Workday’s unified platform, spanning HCM, Finance, and agentic AI, fits into a client’s broader technology and AI strategy.
  • Define agent orchestration and governance patterns that leverage Workday’s security framework, data model, and agent system of record to support enterprise AI governance, compliance, and risk requirements.
  • Design cross-platform agent integration patterns showing how Workday agents connect and collaborate within a client’s broader AI ecosystem, including integration best practices across MCP and A2A.
  • Help the partner identify architectural patterns that create durable, partner-owned intellectual property and scale for reuse rather than remain one-off implementations.
  • Equip the partner’s technical teams with current competitive positioning by explaining how Workday’s native architecture and connected data model compare with competitors and generic AI builds stitched together via APIs.
  • Translate Workday’s technical differentiation into language for CTOs, chief architects, and senior technology leaders, focusing on architectural implications, risk posture, and long-term platform consequences.
  • Bring partner-developed architectural patterns and technical innovations back to Workday’s Forward Deployed and field teams to strengthen broader technical positioning and sales motions.
  • Field architectural objections, platform questions, and complex technical issues encountered by the partner’s technical teams, helping them move forward with confidence.
  • Represent Workday alongside the partner at joint industry events, technical forums, and architecture conferences, including co-presenting on platform strategy and agentic AI.
  • Partner with the Solution Architecture team to shape demo environment data, functional flows, and provisioning so the partner’s demo experience reflects integrated Workday-delivered products and GSI-delivered solutions end to end.
  • Bring partner-built solutions and architectural assets back to the Solution Architecture team so Workday’s field teams can demonstrate partner-delivered solutions.
  • Build and maintain code accelerators, integration playbooks, and technical reference materials for deployment at scale across the partner’s global practice.
  • Coordinate with the Forward Deployed Partner Architect on the partner’s largest deals so practice-level architectural standards and patterns carry through to deal-level technical confidence.

Invisors launches PayBill Suite to streamline staffing firms' pay and billing on Workday

Invisors, a Workday Services Partner, is expanding PayBill Suite, a set of Marketplace Apps for staffing firms that run on Workday. The apps, built through the Built on Workday Partner Program, handle Time-to-Pay and Time-to-Bill cycles. The Contract Management app manages the contract terms and rules that set pay and bill rates. Other apps cover customer time approval, mass time loads, unit-based billing-pay, multi-rate pay, and pay when paid. Invisors says the suite automates processes, cuts integrations, and improves data integrity. Steve Sexton, professional services lead at Invisors, said finance teams are moving from manual reconciliation to more accurate, timely invoicing and faster audit response. The work helped Invisors win Workday's 2025 Partner of the Year for Innovation.

Workday CFO Zane Rowe: AI's value goes beyond ROI and output

Workday chief financial officer Zane Rowe says finance chiefs should judge AI by better work and decisions, not output alone. Return on investment still matters, he told Fortune, but so do stronger decisions, greater capacity, and improved customer value. An AI tool might help a finance team produce twice as many reports, Rowe said, but that does not make the business better. The real test is whether the team uncovers insights, anticipates problems, and advises leaders. Workday is expanding Decision Intelligence to HR and finance, letting teams model scenarios such as hiring changes by region. At its Rising event, it also announced "autopilot agents" for accounting, payroll, and hiring, and a partnership with Anthropic. Rowe's tax team is developing 10 AI agents, though not all will make the cut.

Workday's second act: Bhusri returns as AI fears hit and revenue growth slows to 13%

Workday's cofounder Aneel Bhusri has returned as chief executive officer of the enterprise software firm, taking back the job in February. He had handed it to Carl Eschenbach in 2024, according to Fortune. The company, which makes human resources, finance, payroll, and planning software, faces fears that AI agents will make per-seat software obsolete. Revenue growth has slowed to 13%, and Workday has gone through several rounds of layoffs. Activist investor Elliott Management is reportedly "lurking in the wings." In 2018, Workday topped the Fortune Future 50. Its software ran critical operations for half of the Fortune 50 and more than 35% of the Fortune 500.
