Requirements

  • A PhD in molecular biology, biochemistry, cell biology, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience, with 5 or more years of experience.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience with quantitative bioanalytical assay platforms such as RT-qPCR, ddPCR, ELISA, MSD, Olink, SOMAscan, or NGS-based methods in complex biological matrices including serum, plasma, and tissue homogenates.
  • Working knowledge of bioanalytical method qualification and validation principles for pharmacodynamic biomarker measurements, including familiarity with ICH M10 guidelines and fit-for-purpose frameworks.
  • A track record of delivering bioanalytical projects, such as discovering a pharmacodynamic biomarker or building an assay and resolving associated challenges.
  • Experience with primary cell culture and tissue-derived sample workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Discover pharmacodynamic biomarkers to support clinical development of drugs across multiple programs.
  • Own the design, development, and qualification of pharmacodynamic biomarker assays across various platforms to support preclinical studies.
  • Define go/no-go criteria for biomarker advancement and contribute to pharmacodynamic biomarker strategy in regulatory submissions.
  • Drive data analysis, interpretation, and reporting for bioanalytical studies.
  • Contribute to sample processing workflows, including tissue harvesting, primary cell culture, and complex matrix handling.
  • Mentor research associates, establish standard operating procedures, and build institutional knowledge within the bioanalytical function.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience in bioanalytical method transfer and contract research organization management for outsourced discovery or assay qualification work.
  • Familiarity with preclinical drug development timelines and regulatory submissions, including IND, TGA, and CTD format.
  • Experience in lipid nanoparticle-RNA biodistribution and pharmacodynamic assay development.

About the Company

NewLimit

Develops epigenetic medicines to extend healthspan

NewLimit develops medicines that aim to extend healthy years by reprogramming the epigenome of aging cells. It works by identifying aging-related epigenetic changes using single-cell genomics, machine learning, and high-throughput functional assays, then creating interventions to reverse those changes in targeted tissues such as the immune system and liver. Compared with others, NewLimit combines a specific focus on epigenetic reprogramming with a data-driven, tissue-targeted pipeline and pursues partnerships with pharma and biotech players to develop its proprietary medicines. Its goal is to deliver a new class of medicines that significantly increases the healthspan for patients with age-related diseases.
