PDCA Consulting

News & updates: August 2026.

News & updates: August 2026. PDCA Consulting. Making the Deming cycle real, helping you build the self-improving organisation July was a month of two halves. The first week closed out a German language ITIL (Version 5) Foundation cohort for Aenova, then I took ten days offline in Rome, genuinely offline, no laptop, which is rarer for me than it should be. I came back to three days of ITIL (Version 5) Foundation training for a PwC and Zurich cohort via Omnicom, an invitation to speak at PeopleCert's ITIL Community Summit in October, and a new affiliation with Diane Faben's Mentors for Women initiative. As always, the update below is a transparent look at what has been keeping me busy and what is ahead. If any of it resonates with challenges in your organisation, I would love to hear from you. Training Delivered July delivery. July covered five days of accredited delivery, split between the closing days of a German cohort and a multinational online group. * Aenova Group via d-ploy and xprnc.it: ITIL (Version 5) Foundation German cohort, final two days on 1 and 2 July. * Omnicom for PwC and Zurich: ITIL (Version 5) Foundation online delivery, three days from 21 to 23 July. The Omnicom cohort brought together delegates from PwC teams in several countries plus Zurich. There was a wide spread of experience levels, which made the examples and discussions especially useful. The value chain remains one of the hardest parts of ITIL (Version 5) to explain well and link back to the management practices. That is not a weakness of the framework. It is a reminder that the most central ideas often take the most careful teaching. Partnerships and Business Development New conversations, and a few resumed ones. * PeopleCert: invited to a case study discussion with the PR team and separately invited to submit a session for the ITIL Community Summit in October. * Prospect Engine: continued work on the PDCA transition and sales system project. * Diane Faben: pleased to be joining as an affiliate for the Mentors for Women initiative, with more to follow soon. * Clorient: client status check scheduled with Henri Lindström in early August. Content and Thought Leadership A summit invitation, and staying close to the PeopleCert community. My article ITIL, AI and Service Request Management went live on the PeopleCert Community blog this month, with three more pieces in the pipeline. The bigger news: PeopleCert has invited me to speak at the ITIL Community Summit in October, on a session provisionally titled ITIL, AI and the service request manager. I am putting the abstract together now. I also stayed close to the PeopleCert Ambassador community this month, joining the ITIL and PRINCE2 Ambassador Lean Coffee sessions, the webinar Beyond IT, Managing the Product and Service Duality Across the Enterprise, and two further PeopleCert webinars on AI readiness and ticket free service. On top of that, I have put my name down to beta test the upcoming ITIL Managing Professional Transition eLearning course. "Frameworks are never the goal. They are tools in service of something larger: helping people work better together, and building organisations that improve in a way that lasts." What's Coming Up August and beyond. 7 August: ITIL Strategy (Version 5) resit exam Retaking one module to lift my own ITIL (Version 5) Master score and keep my own certifications as current as the ones I teach. 7 August: Client status check with Clorient Catching up with Henri Lindström on ongoing work. 13 August: EZMaster webinar, Exploring ITIL (Version 5) Foundation Guest speaker slot on a public introduction session, now rescheduled to 13 August. October: ITIL Community Summit speaking session Submitting the abstract for ITIL, AI and the service request manager this week. MSP, now PRINCE2 Programme Management, shows how software delivery, process redesign, change management and integration need one benefits-led programme wrapper. 14/07/2026 Eric Kimberling's digital transformation warnings meet PRINCE2 Agile Version 2, with stage boundaries, named roles, assurance and programme governance used as buyer-side protection. 14/07/2026 Drucker's cathedral story is a practical way to understand why PRINCE2 7 principles still work.

PeopleCert supports diaspora students in Istanbul and Imbros.

PeopleCert supports diaspora students in Istanbul and Imbros. PeopleCert is expanding educational support for Greek diaspora students in Istanbul and Imbros through the program Strengthening Education in the City - English Language Teaching 2025-2026. The initiative, implemented with the Association for the Support of Roman Community Institutions, involved more than 130 students from diaspora schools, who attended over 600 hours of English lessons during the school year. Students who completed the program received internationally recognized LanguageCert certificates at an event held on June 20 at the Marasleios School in Istanbul, in the presence of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew. The certifications are accepted by more than 3,000 universities, institutions and organizations worldwide and recognized in over 100 countries. PeopleCert founder and president Byron Nicolaides said the program invests in the new generation of the diaspora by offering knowledge, modern skills and stronger international prospects. The company plans to expand the initiative with free Greek-language lessons, STEM programs and, for Imbros, Turkish-language courses.

The new ITIL(R) Version 5 is here!

The new ITIL(R) Version 5 is here! PeopleCert officially launched the new version of the IT Service Management (ITSM) framework on 29 January 2026. Today's organizations face rapid change, growing complexity, and the rise of artificial intelligence. This brings new questions: * How can AI become a real driver of growth, rather than just added complexity? * How can digital ambitions be turned into tangible value? * How can progress and growth be achieved when teams still work in silos? The answer is the new ITIL(R) Version 5 Foundation. The new ITIL helps you move from theory to practical, confident application. It supports collaboration, outcome-focused thinking, and informed decision-making - so you can deliver real impact from day one. ITIL is a globally recognized best-practice framework for Digital Product and Service Management. It is used by more than 3 million professionals worldwide, supports 82% of Fortune 500 companies, and is trusted by over 50,000 organizations. For years, ITIL has set the standard for excellence in service management. Developed by thousands of practitioners around the world, the new ITIL is designed for the digital and AI-driven era, helping professionals build in-demand skills and unlock their full potential in an ever-changing environment. * Trusted capabilities for AI-enabled environments * Practical guidance for everyday work * Clear value contribution across the organization * Relevant for all roles, not just IT The new ITIL offers a clear and flexible qualification scheme designed around real digital roles. You can start with the core concepts and progress through role-aligned learning paths that help you build practical skills and apply what you learn in real situations. Each step supports real-world application, so you can use ITIL with confidence in your role. Professionals who already hold ITIL Version 4 certifications can transition to ITIL Version 5 through dedicated transformation courses. Follow its website - registration for new ITIL(R) Version 5 courses will be available soon here: EDU trainings | ITIL.
